Apple is preparing a super sophisticated foldable iPhone, here’s the leak

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Following in the footsteps of Android cellphone manufacturers, Apple is reportedly preparing a folding screen iPhone. The rumors grew louder after the latest patent documents submitted by Apple were revealed.

In the Gizmodo report, the patent is included in Electronic Devices with Flexible Display Cover Layers. Apple’s folding screen technology patent is super advanced because it can repair itself if there is damage.

“The screen material layer can repair itself by filling the dent without external intervention,” wrote Gizmodo, quoted Wednesday (22/5/2024).

The patent was invented by Patently Apple. This is along with two dozen new patents that the company has created.

Apple’s foldable device will have a hinge and a flexible screen cover. Gizmodo wrote that the screen cover of the Samsung Galaxy Flip and Fold 5, Pixel Fold, or OnePlus is thinner.

However, Gizmodo wrote that this patent is not only for cellphones. Can also be used for laptops or tablets.

Previously, Apple had filed an iPhone patent for the device’s self-repairing ability. However, it does not mention the context for folding screens or other components.

LG already has the back plate capability of the device. This has been implemented on the G Flex phone.

CCS Insights reports that nano-coating technology will begin to be developed in the next few years. The coating will fill the gaps when air enters the layer.
