Decrease in Q2 2O24
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia –Rapid technological developments are accompanied by increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks throughout the world, including Indonesia.
This condition has prompted the government to form a Cyber Security Academy to strengthen cyber security in the country.
Kaspersky Security Network (KSN) reported a decrease in cyber attacks of up to 38.08 percent in the second quarter of 2024 (April-June) compared to the same period last year.
Nearly 5 million threats blocked In its official statement, Kaspersky said that 4,785,898 cyber threats were successfully blocked during Q2 2024. This figure is down from 7,729,320 in Q2 2023. Overall, 18.4 percent of users were attacked by web-based threats, placing the country in 105th place worldwide in terms of dangers related to web browsing.
The use of local infection statistics on users’ computers is a very important indicator. This data shows how often users are attacked by malware that spreads via removable USB drives, CDs and DVDs, and other offline methods.
Overall, 21.9 percent of users were attacked by local threats in April-June 2024.
Meanwhile, Kaspersky products detected 8,392,651 local incidents on KSN participant computers in Indonesia.
This figure decreased by 35.52 percent compared to the same period last year (Q2 2023) with 13,015,667 detections.
This data also places Indonesia in 79th position globally.
