It Turns Out This Is How Ecommerce Tactics Make People Spend
More Extravagantly
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia –Amazon has a new way to attract people to shop more on its platform. Its latest tactic is to fix the package delivery system so that it arrives faster.
The technology giant from the United States (US) announced the launch of a feature called Vision Assisted Package. The spotlight technology will highlight packages with green lights that arrive at stops along the route.
The technology will be embedded in 1,000 trucks from electric maker Rivian next year. The ceiling is equipped with cameras and LED projectors to read labels.
That way, package delivery activities will be much more efficient. They don’t have to waste time reading labels one by one.
Packages will also arrive faster. In the end, they are expected to shop even more at Amazon.
“Once customers experience fast delivery, they will come back and shop faster,“ said Amazon Worldwide Store CEO Doug Herrington as quoted by Reuters, Thursday (10/10/2024).
Amazon is known to be Rivian’s largest shareholder. There will be more electric vans made by Rivian, as Amazon has 100,000 vehicles ready by 2030.
The shorter hours will increase the number of deliveries in a shift. Amazon says new deliveries are reaching 100 customers per day now.
Amazon is also rolling out AI software to reduce the time it takes to research new products. The guides will include information and recommendations, making customer decisions more informed and faster.
In addition, Amazon announced it is building smaller warehouses at its Whole Foods grocery stores. This will allow customers to buy directly in stores compared to its competitors.
