Long Unheard, Nokia Suddenly Gets
Into a Case
Nokia Sued by Amazon over Alleged Patent Violation: Echoes of Past Clashes Resurface” The nearly forgotten brand, Nokia,
has suddenly made headlines again, but not in a good way. Infamous tech behemoth, Amazon, has filed a lawsuit against Nokia,
thrusting their name back into the limelight. Accused of illegally exploiting patented cloud computing technology, Nokia
now faces an uphill legal battle with the American online retailer. Recognizing the serious allegations, Nokia vows to scrutinize the case
and hold its ground in court. As the pioneers of cloud technology, Amazon believes they’ve innovatively shifted the computing
landscape since 2006, something that Nokia sought to capitalize on only after its mobile device business went under. Consequently, Amazon
maintains that Nokia did not follow due protocol in accessing Amazon Web Services (AWS) innovations for their own services. Amazon is now
making a stern call for justice, requesting the court to render roadblocks for Nokia’s suspected infringements and demanding hefty financial
damages. Meanwhile, this lawsuit appears to partly be a backlash from a previous patent lawsuit that Nokia filed against Amazon over video
streaming technology last year. Evidently, the war of the tech titans continues.
