1,008 Employees Take Early Retirement of IDR 1.2 Trillion, Telkom Boss: This is a Win-Win

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. announced an early retirement program taken by 1,008 employees. Telkom President Director Ririek Ardiansyah explained that the program is part of the company’s transformation.

Ririek said the early retirement program was taken by employees aged 3-4 years approaching retirement age. The purpose of this program is to help Telkom employees who want to build a business, seek new opportunities, or carry out other activities outside the company.

On the other hand, this program supports transformation while providing an opportunity to save by paying employees’ rights early. “This is a win-win for the company and employees. For employees who are quite senior, Telkom is currently changing, some have difficulty following it. So we provide an opportunity for those who, for example, want to start their own business.

“For the company, this is saving, for employees with accelerated retirement, the funds are given in advance,” said Ririek. Previously, Director of Finance & Risk Management Heri Supriadi said that the early retirement program was one of the main factors affecting Telkom’s financial performance in the second quarter of 2024.

“EBITDA decreased slightly due to the initiation of an early retirement program followed by approximately 1,008 Telkom employees at a cost of IDR 1.2 trillion,” he explained.

He said this program makes Telkom a leaner company. In addition, this program provides an opportunity to increase digital talent, so that it will have a positive impact on the Company’s efficiency and productivity.

“We hope that this initiative will create a linear organization, increase efficiency and productivity, and increase the composition of young talents,” added Heri.
