4 Ways to Find Out Whether
Your Personal Data Has Been Leaked
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia –Data leaks are still a frequent occurrence. Millions of users’ data from various digital services have fallen victim to these crimes.
We also need to be vigilant considering the high number of data leaks, especially if you use services that have been targeted by hackers.
We can actually find out whether personal data, such as email addresses and passwords, has been leaked from various platforms. If there is an impact, immediately change your password and activate security features for extra protection.
Here’s how to check if your account has been affected by a data leak:
1. CheckData
PeriksaData.com is a site created by the Indonesian ethical hacker community. The service is free to access.
You can use it to check whether your personal data has been leaked. To do this, log in to the site and enter your email address.
Then, click Check Now, and you’ll see information about whether your data has been leaked. If so, the source of the leak and the affected data will be displayed.
2. Avast
Avast, an antivirus software provider, also offers a data leak checking service. Here are the steps:
Go to avast.com/hackcheck
Enter your email address
Click Check Now to see if a data breach has occurred. If so, a red triangle will appear with the details of the breach sent to your email.
3. Have I Been Pwned
This site is quite popular for checking for data breaches. The process is almost the same as the previous two services: simply enter the email address used on the official site and click Check.
The site will display detailed information about the affected data and the source site if the user’s email address has been compromised.
4. Google Security Features
