No Longer Be Needed in This Job

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia –In recent years, Bill Gates has been known to often talk about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and technological developments in the future. One of them is that he predicted that the technology would change into free intelligence in the next 10 years.

The philanthropist and founder of Microsoft said that a big change would happen later, when skills that still rely on human labor such as doctors and teachers would become common and free.

“With AI, in the next decade, this will become common and free, great medical advice, great tutoring,” Gates said, quoted from CNBC International, Friday (4/4/2025).

Bill Gates predicted that AI technology would be accessible to almost every aspect of human life, including medicine, diagnosis, tutors and virtual assistants that are available in a wider range.

Even so, he reminded that progress does not only mean good. But it is very scary because there are no limits and it happens very quickly.

On The Tonight Show, Gates also touched on the issue of AI that will replace humans. According to him, there are a number of jobs that cannot be replaced.

One example is that people are unlikely to want to see machines playing baseball. “There are going to be some things that we keep to ourselves,” he said.

“But making and moving things and growing food, over time, will become solvable problems,” Gates continued.

Gates predicted AI years ago. In fact, he once said he would focus on AI if he had the choice to start over.
