Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia –Meta Platforms is known to be aggressive in poaching researchers from OpenAI, the technology company behind the ChatGPT application. In the past week, 7 OpenAI employees have moved to Meta.
Meta is the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta and founder of Facebook, does have big ambitions to encourage the development of artificial intelligence.
The Information report quoted by Reuters stated that four OpenAI researchers named Shengjia Zhao, Jiahui Yu, Shuchao Bi and Hongyu Ren have agreed to move to Meta. Previously, the Wall Street Journal reported that Meta had recruited three OpenAi employees based in Switzerland, namely Lucas Beyer, Alexander Kolesnikov, and Xiaohua Zhai
Meta is reported to be brave enough to offer jumbo salaries of up to US$100 million (Rp1.6 trillion) to workers in the AI field.
