Internet Signal At Prabowo-Gibran Inauguration Location, Kominfo:
Reaches 92 Mbps!
Jakarta, DETIK NET –The inauguration of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as President and Vice President-elect 2024 will take place on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Not only the inauguration location at the DPR/MPR Building, there are 13 entertainment stages that will also be filled with people. So, how is the readiness of the internet network?
The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) revealed that it has prepared the telecommunications network, especially the internet. This mitigation is so that people can capture these moments and share them on social media platforms.
The Director General of Postal and Informatics Organizers (Dirjen PPI) of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Wayan Toni Supriyanto, said that Kominfo is coordinating according to the request from the organizing committee to increase the capacity and quality of services at locations related to the inauguration.
“Yesterday, the Ditdal PPI team surveyed with operators. In principle, cellular operators are very supportive and cellular services are safe,” Wayan told detikINET.
Furthermore, Wayan explained, Kominfo has held a technical meeting to prepare for the inauguration of the President and Vice President which was attended by Kominfo (in this case the Directorate General of PPI and Directorate General of IKP), BPMI, Cellular Operators and Telkom, and TV Pool Representatives.
“Kominfo through the Directorate General of PPI and Directorate General of IKP has coordinated with Cellular Operators and Telkom through official letters to strengthen the network at the event locations and hotels for state guests,” he said.
In addition, Kominfo has measured the network quality at the event locations with the measurement results, namely the location of the MPR/DPR Building with the highest download speed of 92.17 Mbps and the lowest 10.21 Mbps, the location of the Merdeka Palace recorded the highest download speed of 161.5 Mbps and the lowest 49.8 Mbps, and at the Panggung Rakyat location with the highest download speed of 209 Mbps and the lowest 20 Mbps
“Regarding the results of the network quality measurement which are not good, it is submitted to the relevant Cellular Operator for improvement,” said Wayan.
He also conveyed that there were obstacles in the form of difficulty in accessing several points of the event location. Therefore, an Access Permit Letter from the State Secretariat is needed for the Kominfo Team, Cellular Operators, and TV Pool on duty.
“Cellular Operators will place Combat BTS at several points of location where the network quality is poor. For this reason, a Permit Letter from the State Secretariat and access to electricity are needed,” he said.
“Kominfo and Cellular Operators will prepare a technical team that will be on standby at the points of location during the event. For points of activity locations that cannot yet be served with fixed broadband through the nearest odp, an alternative solution will be carried out using cellular network aggregation,” concluded Wayan.
