New Fraud Mode Through Free WiFi, Accounts Instantly Wiped Out

But there are many dangers lurking when using free wifi. We can become victims of fraud or account hacking.
Here are some of the dangers of using free wifi:
- Man-in-the-middle (MITM)
MITM attacks allow hackers to attack while data is moving from a device to a wifi router. The victim’s data will be visible to the perpetrator directly.
Some of the information they can see is passwords and account information when opening mobile banking. As a result, the account can be drained because they know the victim’s financial credentials.

This crime will be committed by the perpetrator by deceiving using a name similar to the original wifi. The goal is to trap potential victims to want to connect to the fake wifi.

Free wifi also poses a potential problem of unencrypted power. Data can be exposed to anyone, even stolen by perpetrators.
4. Malware
Potential malware attacks can also be obtained by free wifi users. Do not download any files that can make the device spyable by other people.
5. Phishing
Phishing mode can also be experienced by those who use free wifi. Phishing will take users to fake sites and open personal information to hackers, including financial data that can cause accounts to be sucked.
6. Packet Sniffing
This is how hackers peek at the personal data of their potential victims. They will analyze data packets obtained through the network.
HTTPS actually makes attacks less effective. But not all services use it, which can expose user data.
