Telkomsat Collaborates with Starlink to Strengthen Enterprise Segment Services
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Telkomsat signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with Starlink for enterprise segment services in various regions in Indonesia on May 15 2024.
The signing was carried out by the Main Director of Telkomsat, Lukman Hakim Abd. Rauf with VP Starlink Commercial Sales some time ago.
“The momentum of this collaboration further strengthens Telkomsat’s position as Starlink’s first and main strategic partner in Indonesia,” said Lukman Hakim in an official statement, Saturday, (18/5/2024).
This collaboration allows Telkomsat to provide Starlink-based business services that are competitive and equivalent to the business package offerings offered through the Starlink website .
As is known, Telkomsat has collaborated with Starlink since 2021 and has been providing Starlink backhaul services since 2022 by utilizing the anchoring rights granted by the government.
“The backhaul infrastructure deployed by Telkomsat is able to provide quality satellite connectivity services while still guaranteeing national data sovereignty and security,” added Lukman.
Meanwhile, Telkom’s SVP Corporate and Communication, Ahmad Reza, explained that his party sees TelkomGroup’s collaboration, in this case Telkomsat with Starlink, increasingly showing its commitment to continue to strive to support government programs to accelerate equal distribution of connectivity throughout Indonesia. “Especially for 3T (Disadvantaged, Frontier and Outermost) areas,” he concluded.
Apart from the Starlink service, Telkomsat has just successfully launched and operated the Merah Putih 2 Satellite at the beginning of this year. This is proof of its seriousness in increasing capacity and deploying connectivity in areas that do not yet have terrestrial and cellular connectivity services (unserved) and areas that have received terrestrial and cellular connectivity, but are not yet adequate (underserved) .
