Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center or PPATK reported that online gambling funds have turned over IDR 691.8 trillion over the past seven years. With the highest amount in 2023 reaching IDR 327 trillion.

The increase in money turnover related to online gambling occurred from 2007 to July 2024. In 2017 the amount was IDR 2 trillion, while in the last report from January to July 2024 it reached IDR 174.5 trillion.

The highest increase occurred in 2020 to 2021. From IDR 15.7 trillion to IDR 57.9 trillion, which is a jump of IDR 267%.

In addition, the spike from 2019 to 2020 was also quite high, jumping 155%. The figure is from IDR 15.7 trillion to IDR 57.9 trillion. The 2017 money turnover figure was only IDR 2 trillion. In 2020 it was Rp15 trillion. In 2023 it was Rp327 trillion. The number of transactions over the past seven years has also continued to increase. During that period it reached 442.7 million transactions.

In 2017 the number of transactions was 250 thousand. Meanwhile, January to July 2024 recorded 117.5 million transactions.

The highest transaction occurred in 2023 amounting to 168.3 million and the previous year it was 104.7 million transactions. The highest transaction spike occurred from 2020-2021 by 674%, namely 5.6 million transactions (2020) to 43.5 million (2021).

“As of July 2024, the money turnover was IDR 174 trillion with 117 million transactions,” he explained.
