Google Attacked, Chrome Users
Hurry and Do This!
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Google released an emergency update for its Chrome browser service. The aim is to overcome attacks from security gaps that were previously undetected or called zero-day.
In one week, three zero-day attacks were finally identified.
“Google has detected the existing exploitation of CVE-2024-4947,” wrote Google’s report, quoted from BleepingComputer, Friday (17/5/2024).
The security flaw was triggered by a weakness in the Chome V8 JavaScript engine reported by security firm Kapersky.
Generally, these weaknesses allow perpetrators to damage the browser by modifying the memory. Additionally, they can also exploit it to execute arbitrary code on targeted devices.
Previously, the two zero-day attacks that had been patched were CVE-2024-4671 and CVE-2024-4761.
“Our engineering team is actively working to release security fixes for the Chrome-based Edge browser,” a Microsoft representative said.
