Telkomsel Accelerates 5G Network
More Massively In Indonesia
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia –Telkomsel, which has previously been a pioneer of 5th generation (5G) broadband connectivity in Indonesia since 2021, is now accelerating its 5G network coverage more massively.
This is done in order to realize its vision and mission to become a leading digital telecommunications service provider in empowering the country by providing innovative and superior connectivity, services, and solutions for all levels of society.
Through the expansion of Telkomsel’s 5G network (Hyper 5G) which has been and continues to be carried out in a targeted, gradual, and measurable manner, Telkomsel aims to present the leading and widest 5G experience for all levels of society to accelerate the transformation and growth of Indonesia’s digital ecosystem and economy.
As an initial step in the expansion of Telkomsel’s Hyper 5G broadband network, now all customers and the public in Denpasar City and Badung Regency, Bali Province, can enjoy a high-speed mobile internet experience with low latency evenly without any delays so that it is expected to open up more opportunities to accelerate all progress.
These two popular locations are among the areas with the highest internet usage, 5G device penetration, MSME potential, and international roaming usage in Indonesia, both by local residents, domestic tourists, and foreign tourists. This makes both have high potential for the adoption of the latest Hyper 5G network technology as a whole.
“Along with the maturity of the digital ecosystem and increasing customer needs, Telkomsel continues to expand the coverage of the Hyper 5G network massively and evenly in various potential areas. This is in line with our spirit in driving progress and empowering the Indonesian people,” said Telkomsel Marketing Director Derrick Heng, in a written statement, Sunday (25/8/2024).
“The acceleration of the deployment of the world’s leading and widest 5G broadband connectivity is part of Telkomsel’s efforts to become a catalyst for the development of various sectors, while strengthening Indonesia’s image and reputation in the eyes of the world. In particular, we focus on strengthening the strategic position of global tourist destinations, supporting the growth of local tourism, empowering MSMEs, and increasing the efficiency of public and government services. With a commitment to accelerate national digital transformation and expand the benefits of the latest technology for all levels of Indonesian society, today we are further strengthening the presence of the leading and widest 5G in Bali,” he continued.
Derrick added that with the leading and widest 5G network in Indonesia as a differentiating advantage, Telkomsel is further strengthening its leadership in the country’s telecommunications industry, opening up more opportunities towards a future full of potential. This is done, among other things, by ensuring that customers and the public, including foreign tourists in Bali, can enjoy a 5G experience that meets international standards.
Therefore, the expansion of the 5G network evenly without interruption, as well as various attractive packages and offers presented, are specifically designed to encourage customers to explore, find opportunities, and get the best experience, both in daily activities and in exploring greater business potential.
“Since the presence of the first 5G network in Indonesia by Telkomsel, the expansion of its network coverage has been and will continue to be carried out gradually and measurably to present not only a telecommunications network for the community, but also the best network experience that can support the development of the Indonesian digital ecosystem in an inclusive and sustainable manner. A total of 225 Telkomsel Hyper 5G points have been spread throughout South Bali covering Denpasar City and Badung Regency, with details of the addition of 67 5G points in Denpasar and 136 5G points in Badung,” said Telkomsel Network Director Indra Mardiatna.
